    Description

1870 SEATED LIBERTY HALF DOLLAR PCGS PR 64 & CAC FANTASTIC ORIGINALITY & COLOR.
Generally monochromatic grey obverse that explodes with color under a light, with a reverse that's a little less bashful, and exhibiting the same flamboyance under a light and a loupe. A bit of weakness in the strike at center on both sides apparently cost this the nod for "GEM". A relatively high stated mintage of 1000 is belied by the fact that only 257 are reported in the PCGS population, with 62 in PR64, and 33 better. At NGC, there are 138 reported, with 32 in PR64 and 27 better.
